You Are Hard Wired For Happiness. Just Turn it On

Srikumar Rao explains how we have been trained our whole lives to be unhappy.

Happiness is our natural state, but we learn to focus our expectations on outcome rather than process and conclude if I can get.. then I can be happy.

The object of your if may change, but as long as you have one, you will not be truly happy.

The Top 10 Traits of Happy People

HowStuffWorks has great lists to shortcut learning just about anything.

Here’s what they said about the traits of HAPPY PEOPLE

Despite the difficulty in pinning down what happiness is and how to achieve it, HowStuffWorks.com has taken a stab at it in this article, in which they offer 10 key tips.

  • Keep Happy People Around: Studies have shown that happiness is contagious. When someone’s friends or neighbors experience happiness, those positive feelings are often passed on to the people around them. Happy people also tend to cluster together in social groups.
  • Exercise: Exercising lowers the body’s levels of cortisol, a hormone associated with stress. You may have also heard of endorphins. Exercise causes the pituitary gland to release these powerful, mood-boosting chemicals.
  • Meditate: Some studies show that meditation improves happiness. Consequently, activities like meditation, yoga and practicing mindfulness may boost your level of happiness and satisfaction.

I’m Told This Hunk of Plastic Will Change My Life

proxy[1]

Every day we’re greeting with new knowledge, technology and opportunities.

How we react. The way we frame the world before us and the actions we take can make even a hunk of plastic the gateway to a better tomorrow.

This particular item might be the ticket to pain relief if applied to trigger points.. What a concept.. there are places on your body where you can press down on a muscle and with a little pain, cause a release of pain somewhere else that is attached.

Frankly, I would not be typing this right now had it not been for a treatment with the device in the photo about an hour ago.

Or would I?

Sometimes the thought of your minds ability to make things happen can cause a placebo effect that may be as strong as any drug or treatment.

I believe in trigger points and my pain is relieved. Knowing which is the cause and which is the effect is a discussion for another blog.  What we learn here is that we can decide and make a difference any time we want.

Amazing minds and bodies we are all blessed with

One Small Action Will Change the Whole Year

The 100 Day Challenge – Let’s Do It

We all began this year at GO, and all roads lead to a final rendezvous; the difference is what we’ve done en route. Goals set, actions taken, and results realized determine if you get to call this year a success or not.

September 23rd is an important date as it marks the 100 day countdown of 2009. Gary Ryan Blair

With that in mind, I have put together a number of questions for you to consider as you progress toward the finish line and call this year a wrap:

  1. What specific results have you achieved so far this year?
  2. Are you healthier, wealthier, and wiser?
  3. Are you winning, losing or just holding ground?
  4. What results are you committed to achieve by the end of the year?
  5. How have you grown and what have you learned this year?
  6. Is there any unfinished business that needs to be tended to in your life?
  7. Are you actively pursuing what’s most important on a daily basis?
  8. What habits do you need to change to ensure better results?
  9. What is the key issue that inhibits your ability to perform at your best?

You must live to answer and honor these questions, because when it comes to the last 100 days of the year, every day and everything you do counts.

With that in mind, I wanted to share with you an exciting opportunity to finish the year strong—it’s called the 100 Day Finish Strong Challenge!

Learn more here: The 100 Day Challenge

One thing we all have in common is that we all love a challenge. For some it could be a goal that puts you to the test, an obstacle that says you can’t beat me, a belief system that is begging for a breakthrough, or even a mountain that just dares you to climb it.

Whatever it is, you’re attitude should be BRING IT ON, as there’s nothing quite like a good old fashioned challenge to see what you’re made, to push the boundaries and tests your limits as it is ONLY when we overcome these trials that we get to reap the sweetest rewards.

Gary Ryan Blair, otherwise know as The Goals Guy has put together what I believe to be the most comprehensive approach to goal setting and performance enhancement.

The 100 Day Finish Strong Challenge is a structured 14-week performance improvement program where challengers compete against themselves to achieve a number of challenging goals and finish the year strong.

You and other competitors from around the world will be provided with a performance plan, a disciplined implementation process, daily measurement systems, and a very unique accountably tool along with specific tactics and strategies to attain your goals.

Toss Out Those Tired Old Excuses . . . Once and for All!

Wayne Dyer is one of those authors where I don’t check before buying his books. Each has been such a treasure to me.

Now he’s hit the nail on the head for those of us who are not yet as successful as we know we could be.

In Excuses Begone, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer reveals his powerful seven-step paradigm that will change the self-defeating thinking patterns that have prevented you from living at the highest levels of success, happiness, and health. Even though you may know what to think, actually changing those thinking habits that have been with you since childhood might be somewhat challenging.
Wayne presents a compendium of conscious and subconscious crutches employed by virtually everyone, along with ways to cast them aside once and for all. You’ll learn to apply specific questions to any excuse, and then proceed through the steps of a new paradigm.

You’ll ultimately realize that there are no excuses worth defending and the joy of releasing them will resonate throughout your very being and you’ll awaken to the life of your dreams.
